Operation against militants begins, 15 militants die, 10 injured in Bajaur

KHAR: The security forces have launched operation against the militants in Tehsil Mamond of Bajaur tribal region after the abduction of 12 Peace committee members.

The security forces backed by jet fighters pounded militant‘s hideouts in three area of Tehsil Memond, leaving 15 militants dead and 10 other injured. The security forces have also destroyed 6 bunkers of militants in Sheenkot, Damadola and Sewai areas of the agency.

The operation has been launched against militants after abduction of 12 Peace committee members. On the other hand, more than 40 families have been migrated to different areas of Charsadda due to security forces operation.

Moreover, Police in a search operation in Charsadda arrested 85 persons including 22 militants. Police recovered 10 Kalashnikovs, 12 rifles, 15 Pistols and more than 5000 bullets from the arrested accused, DPO Charsadda Mohammed Riaz said.

Most of the arrested militants belong to Bajaur and Swat. The arrested men included 12 proclaimed offenders. More than 40 arrested for providing financial assistance and shelter to the militants.
