PPP to support resolution seeking Musharraf’ trial, says AG

ISLAMABAD: Attorney General Sardar Latif Khosa has said that Pakistan Peoples’ Party would support a resolution seeking the trial of former president Pervez Musharraf if tabled in the parliament.

"PPP has ideological differences with PML-N but it would support resolution bringing dictators and breakers of constitutions to book", he told a private TV channel here on Monday.

According to him, PPP does not believe in political victimization but if the parliament passes a unanimous resolution in this regard, then action must be taken against the former dictator.

He said all judges would be appointed on merit and with consensus and urged PML-N not to put its rubble of differences on them and end differences before Musharraf’s trial.

Khosa said if Chaudhry Shujaat gave up supporting Musharraf and supported other parties for trial, then it would show his solid character.
