President declares Pakistan’s immense development as his priority dream BEIJING: Pakistan and China have formally signed an accord for a 7000Mw Hydropower Project in Northern Areas of Pakistan. Announcing the accord, President Asif Ali Zardari has declared Pakistan’s immense development as his priority dream, which he would complete with Chinese help. Addressing the Pak-China investment forum at Chinese province of Hangzhou, he declared China as the next global developmental phenomena, and said that Pakistan would like to garner experience. “ I would visit every nook and corner of China for its cooperation “ he declared. He also said that Pakistan offered plenty of scope of investment for China, for which all facilities would be gladly extended. He declared Pak-China relationship, higher than Himalayas and deeper than any sea, which would progress in times to come. The President also expressed his keen desire about Pakistan being a conduit for Chinese exports to rest of the world; because Pakistan ports were the nearest access for China. Referring to projects started with Chinese help he said that he personally monitored these projects. The Forum had been sponsored jointly by Pakistan’s embassy and Chinese officials; mostly by Chinese heads of industrial and other organizations, who also presented a short briefing of their respective industries to President Zardari. Meanwhile both have signed an MOU, for the construction of a 7000 Mw hydropower project in Northern Areas region of Bunji, and also for joint preparation of vaccine for hepatitis C. The secretary and governor of Zhejiang province of China also held a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, and discussed mutual and bilateral issues. They also hosted a dinner reception for President Asif Ali Zardari. |
