Taliban seal a family planning center in Lower Dir

LOWER DIR: The Lower Dir Taliban on Sunday sealed a family planning center working under the Population Welfare department at Maidan and warned to blow up the office if it was reopened in the area, locals and official sources told ONLINE.

Sources said the center was found locked up on Sunday with a notice pasted on the door warning that no one would be allowed to reopen the office. A source in the Population welfare department Dir Lower though confirmed the report however he refused to comment further on the matter.

A week earlier four of the World Food program including a female had been kidnapped from the Maidan Dir Lower out of whom two females were later on released unconditionally by the alleged kidnappers while the remaining two staffers were still missing, ONLINE has learnt.

So far no group or individual has accepted the responsibility of kidnapping the WFP staffers nor any one has contacted their families, another member of the team told ONLINE on Sunday.
