Indian PM statement deplorable, hostile: President, PM

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani regretting the recent statement of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said such statements are deplorable, baseless and would give rise to hostility and tensions.

These views were expressed when Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani called on the President at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.

Matters relating to current political situation, India’s Blame Game, Power Crises and other matters of mutual interest were discussed in length, sources informed Online.

President and PM regretted the statement of Indian Prime Minister in which he called the Pakistan Government "fragile" and "irresponsible" and said it had "utilised" terrorism as an instrument of state policy against India.

The President and PM said that such statements are unfortunate and baseless and are aimed at making the situation worst, Sources told Online.

They said that India should avoid such tactics to get political mileage.

They said that no state institution is involved in Mumbai Attacks and Indian propaganda to this effect is politically motivated.

Sources say that during the meeting the information provided by India was reviewed and President and Prime Minister agreed in principle that the information will be assessed thoroughly and if any one is found guilty then action would be taken against them according to our own laws and no one will be handed over to India.

They said that Pakistan is against all forms of Terrorism and we would not allow our soil to be used against any other country for Terrorism Acts.

The Prime Minister also briefed the President on present power crises hitting the Country and the measures taken by the Government to resolve the crises, Sources told Online.

President said that Measures on war footings should be taken to overcome the power crises and to provide relief to the general public.

He said that protests is the right of the people of any democratic country but care must be taken that no public property is damaged or destroyed, Sources added.
