Kabul continue to face load-shedding till next summer KABUL: Kabul Residents say only high ranking Afghan government officials have 24 hour electricity. According to these residents, majority of people in Kabul don’t have at least one hour electricity on daily bases. But officials in the Ministry of Energy and Water say the load-shedding is because of the drought and shortage of fuel for producing power. Contradictory to their earlier promise of providing full-time electricity to Kabul residents by January 2009, the officials now say, the residents of Kabul will have 24 hour electricity next summer. On the other note, the Finance ministry refused to share the new budget requested by Afghan ministry of power. This new budget is supposed to be spent for fuel to run the generators |
