Financial Aid announce for the families of deceased, injured of Gakhar Plaza incident

RAWALPINDI: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Punjab, Mujtaba Shujah ur Rehman has announced aid package for the families of firefighter and the persons who died or injured in the in the rescue operation of Rawalpindi’s most popular shopping mall “Gakhar Plaza”.

He expressed these views while talking to the journalists on the occasion of the visit of the place of the incident.

While expressing his sorrow over the incident and loss of the precious lives and property he said that he said Chief Minister Punjab personally review all the relief activities.

He also thanked all the government and non-government institutions for proactively taking part in the relief activities. Presently, there are eight Provincial and Federal government departments are involved in the relief activities he said.

He said that Chief Minister Punjab has announced aid of Rs. 2 million for family of each firefighter who lost their lives, Rs. 0.5 million for each for the five persons while Rs. 50,000 each for the injured.

An investigation Committee has been set up to review the aspects of the incident. The committee will submit its report carrying all details of the loss and real causes of the incident within a week to the Chief Minister Punjab.

Punjab government was also planning to purchase latest equipment to meet such incidents in future, he added.
