Indian media flouts “convincing “ interview by Mian Nawaz Sharif ISLAMABAD: Indian media was currently flouting one of the most recent interviews of PML-N head, Mian Nawaz Sharif, in which the former PM had “conveyed “ the feelings that one of the “involved terrorist” in recent Mumbai attacks was definitely a Pakistani. This irresponsible attitude of a former PM and one of the major politicians only manages to reinforce the already poisoned “global perceptions” of Pakistan being involved in almost all kinds of “terrorists attacks”. A leading and senior congressman, Kapil Sibal has gleefully lauded this statement coming from such a major political force of Pakistan, which the congressman has gloated about all over. In his interview, Mian Nawaz Sharif had expressed his surprise about the fact that security agencies had surrounded the village house of the alleged “terrorist”, Ajmal Qasab, reinforcing the “truth” that Ajmal Qasab did belong from Pakistan. Commenting on the Indian news, the PML-N spokesman, Siddiqui Al Farooq has however strongly refuted the news, claiming that the PML-N head was quoted out of context. “What Mian Sahib said was that it was beyond his comprehension as to why had the Pakistani security forces cordoned the village house of Ajmal Qasab”, he maintained, adding that Mian Sahib was criticizing activities of security agencies, which were reinforcing the belief that Ajmal Qasab did belong from Pakistan. He said that PML-N’s policy about terrorism was quite an open fact, and the party abides by its mandate regarding the nature of Pak-India relations. |
