Senate body on Interior seeks report of missing persons, cases registered against criminals in Balochistan QUETTA: Senate Standing Committee on Interior has sought a detailed report about list of missing persons by secret agencies and the cases against the criminals and persons involved in the law and order situation in Balochistan within two days. While addressing a press conference along with Senator Muhabat Khan Marri, Senator Abdul Khalid Pirzada, Senator Abdul Rahim Mandokhail, Wali Muhammad Badeeni and others here on Monday, chairman Standing Committee on Interior, Senator Talha Mehmood expressed his concern over the worsening law and order situation, incidents of kidnapping for ransom, theft, dacoity and target killing in the province and poor performance of the police department. “Most of the cases go unregistered. However, no single arrest so far been made if any case was registered against these incidents, “ he added. In this connection he sought detail report about list of missing persons and the cases registered against the criminals and persons involved in the law and order situation in Balochistan and directed the concerned officials to submit the report within two days. He further told that he has also raised the issue of 900missing persons; out of which 32 were in jail lockups, 52 had been released while there is no clue about the rest of the missing persons. He also termed the use of force in Balochistan and especially tribal areas unnecessary and stressed upon the need to solve all the issues through dialogue rather use of force. He said that there is no other substitute to the autonomy of the provinces and it has become necessary for the integrity and survival of Pakistan to take all decisions while equally taking people of Balochistan into confidence. “It is for the first time in the past 61-years that Standing Committee on Interior has not only discussed and reviewed the issue of Balochistan in length but also visited Balochistan and drafted the recommendations. Immediate implementation on these recommendations might provide perpetual solution of the issue”, he added. He also called upon the government to address all the reservations and concerns on priority basis. Levies system must also be restored by appointing 117 levies personnel in Khuzdar. Similarly, he said that removing of FC check posts and other law enforcing agencies in the province was invariable. He said that government must also issue more and more NOC to mineral resources exploration companies in Balochistan because it will put the Balochistan province on the path of progress and development. While answering to a question regarding the law and order situation he said that involvement of foreign hand in deteriorating the situation might not be ruled out. He accused that America, India and Afghanistan are attempting to create law and order situation to destabilize Pakistan. |
