President Zardari leaves for UAE State Visit tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari will undertake his state visit to United Arab Emirates from tomorrow (Monday).

He will be accompanied by a high profile delegation comprising of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Javed Malik, ( Pakistani Safeer e Amoomi) Pakistan’s Ambassador at Large, Shaukat Tareen, Minister of Finance and Rehman Malik, Interior Minister. During his visit him and his delegation will hold talks with the UAE President Shaikh Khaleefa Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, as well as Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of UAE.

He will also have other meetings with Finance Minister, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and UAE Crown Prince Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahayan. During the visit it is expected that a number of strategic agreements will be signed including a proposed Joint Investment board, as well as a Pakistan UAE Friendship Forum which aims to boost cultural, social and business ties with the UAE. The UAE has played a vital role in Friends of Pakistan Group and discussions will also focus on this issue. The UAE is the largest Foreign Investor in Pakistan and has major investments in telecom, banking, real estate, and industries. It is expected that this relationship will be further expanded during this visit and various projects of investments will be identified. Pakistanis are the second largest population group in the UAE and have played a role in the development of the UAE.
