ISPR denies any joint operation at Pak-Afghan border WASHINGTON: ISPR has strongly denied
the recent statement of US Commander,
Colonel John Spinners, regarding joint
operation at Pak-Afghan border. Earlier, US Commander, Colonel John Spinners had said that US forces had started joint operation "Lion Heart" with Pakistani forces on Afghan border in which the Afghan soldiers were also taking part.
According to a private TV channel, US commander had said that he was in daily contact with Frontier Corps and this operation had been started in order to pressurize the militants on the both sides, indicating that US forces carried out operation against the militants coming from Pakistan in the area of Kantar.
However, spokesman of Pakistan Forces, Major G Athar Abbas has strongly refuted the statement and said that no joint operation was being carried out, and both the forces were conducting operations in their respective areas. "Pakistan forces are only allowed to take operation in Pakistani areas while US and Afghan forces conduct their own operations in the Afghan areas", he added. |
