S Arabia has assured six months’ supply of oil: PM RAHIM YAR KHAN: After assurances of economic assistance from certain friendly countries and supply of oil for six months from Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani hopes that there would be no need to contact IMF and Pakistan’s economy would be recovered soon. He was talking to media after a huge congregation held at Jamal Din Wali in Rahim Yar Khan. PM visited RYK on the invitation of Provincial President PML-F, Ahmad Mehmood. On the occasion, he assured the farmers that the government would procure almost all the wheat crop of the current season. He also said that after a decrease in oil prices internationally, the new prices would also be implemented in Pakistan. “To improve the farmers’ income per acre, the government has fixed the rate of wheat crop as Rs 950 per 40 Kg”, he announced He told the media that the current assembly was not a rubber stamp Assembly and all the decisions were taking by the assembly rather than a dictator, reminding “A little back, an in-camera session of parliamentarians had been held in order to take the parliament in confidence. He further stated that PPPP believed in provincial autonomy and the government would provide more of it to the provinces, and said that by lifting ban on labor and students organizations his government had fulfilled the wish of Benazir Bhutto. Talking about expansion in cabinet, PM told that this expansion would be more helpful in solution of problems of the people. He further told that construction of new dams was also being initiated which would be helpful to overcome the energy crisis. Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Makhdoom Shahabuddin, MNA of PML-F, Jhangir Tareen, Senior Minister of Punjab, Raja Riaz Ahmad, PM’s son, Abdul Qadir Gilani also addressed to the congregation. |
