1st session of Pak-Afghan Mini Jirga concludes, urging joint strategy plan for elimination of terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan-Afghanistan Mini Jirga has concluded its first day proceedings with proposals to adopt a joint strategy plan for elimination of terrorism and extremism.

According to a private TV Channel report, during the first day proceedings, the “Mini Jirga” discussed and reviewed the strategy for rooting out terrorism from country.

Members of the Jirga from both countries also reaffirmed that two countries confronted similar crisis and there was need of a joint strategy to address these issues.

In the second session, they categorized groups of militants and armed men conducive for dialogue and possible strategies required to be adopted in this connection.

The Afghan members of Mini Jirga categorically declared that they would only hold dialogue with those elements who were ready to lay down their weapons, acknowledge the constitution and want to become part of government.

The Pakistan’s members of Mini Jirga also agreed that elimination of terrorism was the top priority of government.
