PPP to contest elections under protest: Benazir Bhutto RAWALPINDI: PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto has said PPP will participate in the elections under protest adding her party will not leave the electoral fields open for political orphans. She said this while addressing party workers at the residences of candidates of constituencies No 54 and 55. “ I had invited leadership of all the political parties to tea to forge consensus. Nawaz Sharif wanted to come but he could not come despite efforts”, she said. On the other hand Qazi Hussain did not want to sit with us, she added. “We have decided to take part in the elections under protest in the light of principles of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto”, she underscored. If other parties go for working out joint strategy then it can be considered, she added. PPP had always waged struggle against the dictatorship and never accepted it , she held. If it is said PPP has made a deal with military dictatorship then it is said wrong, she remarked. PPP is symbol of federation, she said adding but the remnants of dictatorship do not want prosperity of the people. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah created Pakistan with popular force and not with the force of tank and bullet, she said. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto brought about revolution against Ayub Khan and Yahya Khan with the help of people, she added.
