Operation Lal Masjid not a conspiracy to halt APC, says Fahim

NEW YORK: Chairman Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) and President Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Makhdoom Amin Fahim has rejected the impression that operation against Lal mosque was the conspiracy to postpone All Parties Conference (APC) in London.

He added that operation against Lal mosque was carried out at that time when APC is schedule to be held in London, however he said he doesn’t think it was the conspiracy of Government to halt APC.

In an interview to Private TV Channel and talking to the Journalists following ceremony of PPP USA, the President PPP held that all was happening right under the nose of Government, as innocent people lost their lives in the incident.

The upcoming time would expose of the reason behind the incident of Lal mosque, he observed. It is still premature to say anything that it was Government’s step against terrorism or political setup. We would have to wait the investigation.

PPP wants that the Parties scheduled to participate in the APC would have to take unanimous decision for the restoration of democracy in the country, he pointed out.

He asked all Political parties not to strike deal with Army led Government. He declared that Government’s statement over striking of deal with PPP is a conspiracy to create difference among Political parties, as Government has failed to do so.

The President PPP made it clear that PPP would not humiliate the upcoming generation by making deal with army. He paid marvelous tribute to ongoing movement of lawyer community.

Only “NO” of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry proved that no adventuresses would have need to take the support of doctrine of necessity, he noted.

He held that citizens of the country would decide the future of the country and we would accept their decision whatever it is. He pledged if we are in the opposition in next Government then we would positively criticize.

He expressed thanks to Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Former Prime Minister and Quaid Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) over calling and hosting APC in London.
