Waziristan tribals condemn NATO attack on army check post

SOUTH WAZIRSTAN: The Tribals of Wazirstan Agency have strongly condemned the recent NATO attack on Pakistan Army check post in North Waziristan Agency, in which one soldier was martyred while three were severely injured.

While addressing a Jirga held at Tanga Mela on Tuesday, the Tribal notables from North and South Waziristan Agencies said that tribal belt was passing through a most critical phase, and advised the tribals to heed to the need of the hour, lest they got totally devastated.

Malik Abdul Wali, Malik Shahboot Khan and others who spoke on the occasion said that the deliberate and provocative incident has sparked an outrage among the tribals, and berated the NATO troops for their blind attacks, by their helicopter gunships.

They said that one should not expect any good from such blind "allies", and said that any future attacks would invite retaliation from the tribals. They also demanded an unconditional apology from NATO command and to evolve a conducive strategy to avoid such actions in future.
