Akbar Bugti’s sons call for excavation of Bugti’s grave under international bodies to ascertain death causes

QUETTA: Sons of Nawab Akbar Bugti have asked the international bodies to arrange excavation of grave of their father under their supervision to ascertain the causes leading to his (Akbar Bugti’s) death.

This was demanded in a hurriedly called press conference here Thursday in Bugti house. Those who addressed the press conference included Jamil Akbar Bugti, Talal Akbar Bugti, Agha Shahid Bugti, secretary general of Jamhoori Watan Party, Aman Ullah Katrani, secretary information and Mir Humayun Marri.

Jamil Akbar Bugti and Talal Akbar Bugti said it was not known to them if their father was buried or some one else in Dera Bugti as the body was not even shown to the journalists. Announcement was made on media for burial of our father in our absence in Dera Bugti on September, 1. Burial of our father without "ghusal and grave cloth" is tantamount to trampling the Islamic norms.

They alleged government has buried the causes of death this way. " We are lodging FIR through media in unequivocal term. General Pervez Musharraf had threatened some time earlier by naming our father that he would hit three tribal chiefs in a way that they would be caught unaware.

General Musharraf had also congratulated through newspapers the team which participated in the operation to kill Nawab Akbar Bugti . We are right to allege that our father was killed at the behest of General Musharraf and his associates, they added. The concerned international bodies should register FIR, ensure investigation of the case besides bringing the culprits to justice.

They went on to say that Quaid-e-Azam was placed in an old ambulance and he was put to death at the behest of state. Some time later first prime minister of the country, Liaqat Ali Khan was murdered through mercenaries. Khan of Qalat who annexed Balochistan with Pakistan under an agreement with Quaid-e-Azam could not remain safe. The fate of chief of Jhalawan is also before every one. Prime Minister who made the country a nuclear power was executed. Asad Mengal son of Atta Ullah Mengal was abducted and later killed.

They charged the rulers snatched Nawab Akbar Bugti from us on August, 26, 2006 a person who was waging struggle to seek maximum autonomy for the provinces. He struggled for the sovereign right of people of Balochistan. Dera Bugti was targeted for 48 hours. Over 70 people including women and children were killed and Nawab Akbar Bugit escaped miraculously.

We will not make any request to the rulers for setting up judicial commission as no request is made with the murderers , they added.

To another question they said that Nawabzada Brahmdagh Bugti and Nawabzada Mir Aaali grandsons of Nawab Akbar Bugti are safe and we have received information about their safety.
