National Rowing team deprive of basic facilities

ISLAMABAD: Besides depriving of basic facilities, Pakistan National Rowing team is showing exceptional performance on international level.

According to the details, National Rowing team which won six gold medals in 9th South Asian Games has severe shortage of basic facilities including boats. It is pertinent to mention that the condition of boats which are using by rowers for the training of 10th South Asian Games to be held in Sri Lanka and Asian Games which would held in Qatar are in poor condition.

On the condition of anonymity, a player of national team told that facilities which are providing to national team are inadequate but team are performing best performance on international level. He demanded Ministry of Sports, Pakistan Sports Board and Pakistan Sports Trust to provide boats and other basic facilities to Pakistan Rowing Federation (PRW) which is vital for the promotion of game in the country, he added.
