Five killed, five injured as bus plunges into gorge

MUZAFFARABAD: At least five people were killed and 15 others injured when a passenger coach fell into a rain nullah near Azad Kashmir capital, Muzaffarabad.
A woman and a child are also among the deceased. Officials said the incident took place near Muzaffarabad city where a speedy passenger coaster, carrying more than 20 people, went out of driver’s control and plunged into a rain gorge.

Police said so far five dead bodies have been retrieved from the completely damaged vehicle, adding that more than 15 people who suffered injuries in the deadly incident were shifted to city hospitals by locals and rescue teams.
Medics fear the death toll may mount further since more than a dozen passengers were critically wounded. The ill-fated bus was going to Palandari from Ranjal area of Muzaffarabd when met the incident on hilly track.
Rescue operations were in progress at the incident site, with teams facing stern hardships due to rainwater in the nullah
