Jirga shootout claims six lives

RAWALPINDI: A shootout between two groups has resulted in the deaths of six people, four of them brothers, here on Friday morning.
According to media reports a spat during a Jirga (a meeting of family elders to decide disputes) in Rawalpindi’s Gulistan Colony went so out of control that firearms came into play and five men dropped dead before anything could be done.

According to media reports a spat during a Jirga (a meeting of family elders to decide disputes) in Rawalpindi’s Gulistan Colony went so out of control that firearms came into play and five men dropped dead before anything could be done.
The firing also left one person critically injured, who later died in the hospital.
It was later revealed that the disputants were fighting over land.
Investigation has been launched, but no arrests have been reported so far.
