Senior doctors including Professor Tariq Salah-ud-Din, Dr Javed Akram, Dr Faisal Masood will meet the representatives of the young doctors today in the General Hospital.
No young doctors are serving in Multan and Faisalabad as yet, despite the warnings issued by the government of Punjab.
The holidays of doctors were cancelled in Faisalabad’s government hospital but none of them is present on duty.
The situation is no different in Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur, and the young doctors have aggravated the problems of patients manifolds.
On the other hand, the government of Punjab has made alternate arrangements for re-opening of Out Patient Department (OPD) in hospitals today (Monday).
On Sunday, 15 Army doctors begun examining patients in OPD of District Headquarters Hospital, Gujranwala, while 454 newly inducted doctors will also be deployed in different hospitals.
Sources said the senior doctors, yesterday, hinted at calling off the strike, and assured the Chief Minister of Punjab to do so unconditionally in order to avoid any further conflict, but no development has been made in this regard till to date.
