Addressing a public gathering in Buner,he termed the crisis a national drama staged by vested interests elements to fulfil their nefarious designs. He said only independent judicial system could guarantee a strong democracy which in turn could strengthen fledgling institutions in the country.
“The corrupt elements want to deprive judiciary of its independence but we'll not let anyone achieve its vicious goals,” he said. He said PPP-S always standby free and independent judiciary”, he added.
Speaking about Afghanistan, he said that Pakistan’s interest must be taken into account by the international community as it has been rendering sacrifices since 33 years. “The government must leave no stone unturn in protecting Pakistan’s interests in the region,” he demanded.
He said that Pakistan must evolve a comprehensive strategy in view of International Security Assistance Forces’ pullout in 2014 to protect its national interest and shape its destiny. Referring towards development activities in Malakand Division, he said that so-called protectors of Pakhtuns’ rights received funds worth billions but spent nothing to compensate the militancy and flood people of the area.
“Reconstruction so far is either done by international NGOs or by friendly countries,” he said, warning that both federal and provincial government would be held accountable for misappropriation of development funds.
Referring towards ANP government’s performance, he said that the so-called champions of Pakhtuns rights did nothing for its people. “Even they failed to force the federal government pay its shares under net hydel profit,” PPP-S leader said.
He said he had always raised voice for the Pakhtuns’ rights and if voted to power would prove that only PPP-S had the ability to steer them out of prevailing crises.
