Four pilots killed as two PAF planes collide

NOWSHERA: Four pilots were killed Thursday when two Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer planes collided in Rashakai area of Nowshera, according to PAF spokesman.

"Two PAF Mushshak aircraft, while on a routine training mission, crashed near Rashakai, Risalpur. Four pilots embraced Shahadat", said a statement issued by the PAF.

A board of inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of accident, the statement said.

Meanwhile according to various media reports, the accident took place at about 10.20 a.m. when two trainer planes slammed into one another while on a routine training flight over the Rashakai area.

One plane crashed into a field while another fell on a house in a residential area.

Eyewitnesses said a huge fire erupted after a plane crashed into the residential area. SHO Nowshera confirming the incident said that four piolts of the jets have been killed and five people injured including two children.

The two planes had taken off from an air base in Resalpur. The Mushak aircrafts were on their routine flight mission near Nowshera, PAF officials said. The names of deceased pilots are Muazam Mustafa, Masood and Zegham was reported on media.
